Making It Out - Creative Alternatives to Repeat Offending
Based by the seafront in Portslade, Brighton, Making it Out is a charity dedicated to assisting people who need help to reach their potential. In particular, they support individuals who are at risk of committing a crime by providing meaningful training, workshop experience and assistance with employment, entrepreneurship and other purposeful activities.
I am delighted to have been working with this fantastic charity since February delivering a series of workshops to produce a series of fine art prints inspired by the surrounding industrial area and village of Portslade. I covered a variety of skills with my students from basic screen printing to colour theory, composition and will be teaching them how to professionally present fine art prints along with certificates of authenticity.
We are working towards an exhibition in the local area to celebrate the collaboration between artist and charity and to sell the beautiful series of prints that represent the area.
